Richard Muller of the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature project discusses his recent Wall Street Journal article in that has caused a stir in the debate about climate change. Muller stands by the article but says the Journal gave the piece a misleading headline. Muller goes on to say that in his opinion, the earth is definitely warming but says skeptics bring up good points and criticizes Al Gore's documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." He also says some scientists are to blame for the confusion among the public on what the truth really is. Interviewed by Rob Nikolewski of Capitol Report New Mexico, 10/31/11.

You have the very makings of a journalist... from Pravda... during the 1930s.

Sure, who funded Galileo Galilei's studies? perhaps the Heliocentric Society?

BTW, the funders are referenced in the papers, you just have to actually read them.

Its easy to prove that CO2 is a greenhouse gas and contributes to a rise the temperature inside a container (or atmosphere). Its also very easy to prove that CO2 levels in the atmosphere has grown steadily to a point higher than it has been in hundred of thousands of years. The CO2 levels in the oceans has also risen a lot as well. There is a clear correlation here, so I don't really understand the skepticism when the proof is so clear to whats causing global warming.

Academic papers often contain conflict of interest statements.

Muller is getting a big payoff to pretend that he believes in global warming.

This is not science and this is no scientist. All experiment results should be prefaced with who funded the study from now on.

I completely disagree. There was a lot of issues with the initial data to begin with, and there were a lot of things being done with the data that shouldn't have been done. Muller displayed a healthy skepticism, and started a fantastic project to develop easy-to read data that takes into account as many factors as possible to make sure completely accurate and indisputable data is released. This data will end the debate on global warming and make it practically impossible for deniers to continue.
