My first batch of home brewed beer. Doing a duplicate kit of Rogue's Hazelnut Brown Nectar. This is just the first step in the process.

  • Wow, 2 weeks? I guess that makes sense though. I'm looking forward to seeing how it tastes. I'm sure you can try different brews once you get the procedure down.

  • @weightlossfordudes The recipe said two weeks to ferment, but I gave it another week to make sure it was done. And then another two weeks once it's bottled to let the last of the yeast eat the sugar I added when bottling and carbonate the batch.

  • Good luck with the brewing. Several guys at the university make their own brew, beer or wine. It seems to be a rite of passage for many graduate students. Even my own dad used to make his own brew back in the day. I've got nothing against it, seems cool, but I've never tried it.

  • @weightlossfordudes Thanks dude! It's been a blast so far following the process. I'll be at completion this coming weekend when I can try my first bottle.

  • my grandfather used to brew his own beer and made alot of stout too. he even made alot of wine. but the man was a lover of all types of alcohol really.

he loved pretty much everything that was bad for your body, lol.

  • @DaveyLoosesWeight Lol. I'm excited to drink this soon. It's been sitting in the bottles for about a week and a half. I'll be cracking my first bottle this weekend. I want to a stout some time soon.

  • @MissJulieJanee Haha. I filmed the bottling portion, but haven't edited it yet. Get to crack open the first bottle and try out this weekend. I'm really excited to try it out!!!! I will need a killer name for the beer once it's all done. I do like your name idea. It is catchy!

  • @wmbgcoupon Colonial Williamsburg is the best place for history! I'm just up the road in Prince William county.

  • Good lord, men and their beer. LOL My only question is....in a few weeks when its all said and done...you're gonna need a killer name for YOUR brew. What will that name be? Might I suggest (and this is only because you won't name your first born child after me....) you should call it Missjuliejaneeiscoolerthantheothersideofthepillow-Brew. I think its catchy. haha

  • Love kits......I am good friends with Master Frank Clark @ Colonial Williamsburg. I think he has some videos on line @ CW on 18th Century beer making...They are really cool if you like history. My husband & I are such dorks. We love history.
