If there's an energy pattern running up and down the spine that's thought of as a snake, why are snakes portrayed as villains in folk tails and in the bible?

@ObeyBunny cuz the ppl who ran the "church" wanted dominance over & control of the ppl at large. they also wanted all the "secrets" - which should have been open 2 all, & there 4 NOT "secrets" - 4 them selves, assuming there's any validity 2 this stuff. & even if there's no validity 2 it, by pretending 2 keep secrets, those who would dominate others would appear 2 know the "secrets" of ALL, there by giving the impression of being all-powerful super humans - which they ain't. they're just ppl.

@ObeyBunny check out zeitgeist part one on religion.. it describes how the stories through the years have been adapted to suite(sp) the time that mans living in at the time... the serpent is "worshipped" in many of the eastern cultures, just about every religion or philosophy uses many of the same symbols.. even modern science has adaptations of the same symbols

@bg11215 it's not just Jesus either - Satan (the name not the concept) comes most directly from the Egyption adversary to Horus (where we get the word Hour), Set or Setan. Moses is a modern take on Mises, Manou, Minos - all of them "law givers" who received the word of God on a mountain top. I'm not making this stuff up. I am not necessarily reguting that these ppl existed - but rather the characteristics ascribed to them.

@bg11215 The characteristics ascribed to Jesus are identical to various other god-men that came before him. it all goes back to early man's interest in the stars (heavens/Heaven). They invented elaborate myths & stories to describe movements of cellestial bodies & the sun (the son) was always the most revered for its life giving properties. Jesus (just like Horus, Mythra, Dionyses, etc before him) is a metaphor for the sun & his 12 deciples are the 12 constellations of the zodiac.
