USNA's ES 451 Mobile Robot Design: Terrain Challenge 2009. We used a Lego NXT Brick to conduct a turn on mouse pads, drive up a hill that had screws and string obstacles, drive over "the canyon" which was wider than our largest wheel available, go down a hill covered with spray foam obstacles, and finally drive our way out of the 3-bean and stone pit. In order to successfully complete the challenge we had to get through the course twice using a maximum of three attempts. We were not allowed to touch the robot on the hills and could only realign it prior to the downhill.
