Meguiars Smooth Surface Car Clay Kit is just the right choice for that smooth as glass finish. It's quick, easy and you don't even need to be a "pro".

  • I think this claying business is a complete waste of time. I am sure an Eco-biodegradable solution could achieve the same results with minimal hassle.

  • @mavericksf16 Claying is on the contrary a great investment of your time. An eco-biodegradable wash will not be able to shift bonded contaminants such as tree sap, road tar and over spray from paint. Clay does all this quickly and effectively without damaging the paint surface.

  • dish soap good to use?

  • @mcul2112 We only recommend the use of Quik Detailer as a clay lubricant.

  • I watched various car detailing videos and everyone seems to contradict each other. For example, one says wash with a sponge, another suggests a wash mit. Then one video says to use straight lines when applying wax, but you use a circular motion. I'm convinced the only "best" way is the way a person finds easiest and one that gives the best results. I used your "cheap" liquid wax and everyone says the car looks SO good. It takes all day to clean it too, but I am not an expert or anything.

  • i usually use meguiars ultimate compound first if the car is really bad, but if its so so and minor stuff stuck in the paint ill use the clay bar with quik detaile. But for the final touch i like to use meguiars Ultimate detailer because itll give a way better shine and just make it look and feel alot better, but only worth while for that fine tuning biz.

  • @jmend512 You can use soapy water, too... Just make sure whatever it is you use is slippery and the clay does NOT stick.

  • i use soapy water when i have nothing else. then i wax with hand wax.

  • @jmend512 a quick detailer spray would do the same

  • So when the lube is done is there anything else we can use to replace the spray that came with they kit
