Another piece by Trimpin in which drops of water, timed in complex rhythmic fugues, drip into plastic buckets & glass jars. The water falls from midi-controlled fruit juice dispensers to create precise rhythms & velocities. The water is infused with a glow-in-the-dark dye to make it more visible.

Other images: from Trimpin's residency at the University of Michigan's School of Art & Design.

  • genius + awesomeness = Trimpin

  • Holi fuker. That shit is cool!!

reminds me of a track I made with drink bottle sounds lol

  • I had this exact same idea a few years ago but didn't make it (more of a musician than an electrician or programmer) glad to see that it's been made into a reality!

  • most likely with MIDI (as you can see at 1:09) and an interface to the "drippers"

  • excellent! How did you coordinate this?

  • ok, different.
