  • @drunkrtard

    what heard:

if you take all sciencist its 50 50, but science is big realy big.

and i heard the science who study to orgin of the world or the unviverse is about 80 - 100% atheist agnostic.

  • Enjoyed

  • It's funny when foreigners know the american Constitution better that americans .

  • Thanks to XheraPhine and LadyAmalthealUnicorn for the info.

  • @drunkrtard Please see LadyAmaltheaUnicorn's respons to my respons on this - her reply is more accurate than mine!

  • @LadyAmaltheaUnicorn Thank you. I was reasonably sure that the percentage was very low for biologists, physicists and astronomers (All scientists that deal with the origin of the universe/earth/life), but I couldn't find a quote, so I didn't want to mention it. I think the study I'm refering included all kinds of scientists, which means computer scientists and what-not.

  • @XheraPhine

"In 2009, the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press polled members of the American Association for the Advancement of Science on belief in a higher power. The study found that 51 percent of members polled expressed such a faith, compared to 95 percent of the American public. Additionally, the National Academy of Science charted belief in God as low as 5.5 percent among biologists and 7.5 percent among physicist and astronomers in a 1998 study.``

  • @drunkrtard The number is about 50% according to a study conducted by Elaine Howard Ecklund - published in 2010. You can read a short article about it if you google "Are Top Scientists Really So Atheistic? Look at the Data" (top link should be to that article, published in Discover Magazine [not to be confused with Discovery Magazine])

  • I thought 90%+ of today's scientists are atheists. Apparently that was not the case in 2000, is that the case today or is that still just a misconception?
