  • When I heard of the Lost Josephine I heard it came with a curse.

The Navaho say for he who reopens the mine his blood will run like water in his veins and in his youth he will be as an old man.

Well maybe it's not a curse, Maybe it's a prophecy. for my blood has run like water in my veins and in my youth I have become like an old man. maybe I'll go out and find it someday 8)

I met a waitress in Roswell who said her brother was at gold bar mountain on the base when they explored it...gold gone

  • ...Well after the kid Al now old retired from being a newspaper editor he was moving and going through some boxes. He found some of the black rocks he had put in his pocket years before. On a whim he dropped them off to be assayed.

The assay came back that the ore samples were worth over $300 per ton for the gold in them in 1960's or 1970's prices. He never made it back to the place he found as a youth. People who investigated it believe they had found the lost Josephine.

  • ...they found..up in a box canyon an old mine site. not a tunnel but a shallow quarry or maybe it was just a processing site. they found black mining minerals scattered around the area, there was evidence of mining in the area not just at the site. several trips taken into town proved the black ore to be nearly void of any gold not worth mining in the late 1800's early 1900's

The man gave up on the site, the kid grew up and moved out to California to become a newspaper editor....

  • I've been a fan of the lost Josephine story a long time.

Some accounts put the mine in the Henry's some put it in the San Juans

I found one account of a young man I think named Al who was hired to accompany an older gent into the wilderness to compare an old Spanish map and accounts to the terrain. They found a cave with a helmet and breastplate n stuff then saw a scene painted or carved in the rock and noticed it looked similar to the skyline and nearby peaks

    They explored around and found....

  • Chances are really really few but yeah it could eventually happen

  • I think that indicates that it is several thousand feet deep. It takes about 8 seconds to fall 1000 feet.

  • good choice of tunes man

  • were can you get them
