Thats not a oil stone, it's actually a aluminum oxide stone which can be used with or without any lube.

Malcolm is giving a good demo on how to sharpen a little hatchet , all his demos are good and it's the best channel on you tube . @milotist Which ever way you want. Though I reconmend using water as it helps to stop metal particles form clogging the pores of the stone and decrases the time spent sharpening.
