I play the real drums, and I play semi competitively (on leaderboards) in rock band. I think that it is really difficult to be good at these games without prior musical knowledge. I first learned the clarinet, and I kicked ass at it. As a result, I kick ass at rock band.

Guitar hero is the reason why i play guitar and write music now lol i dont get why people hate guitar hero so much, it brings so much attention to all of this good music and teaches kids all of this music, yet people get pissed off when people find out about their favorite song through guitar hero, which makes no sense at all

On a similar note I play real drums and Rock Band drums. Both are fun in different respects. You play Rock Band drums for 9 hours a day on Expert 5 stars then yeah, it would be good to start playing for real. Should you by the moral codes of what other people shove down your throat. No. Do what you want for fun. Don't let other people tell you what you should and shouldn't do.

I'm a real guitarist and though I don't like guitar hero I'm perfectly fine with people liking guitar hero.
What I don't like is some 12 year old brat bragging to me that he beat Hot For Teacher on Expert with five stars and all his friends are jealous.
Yeah you twit I just played that on live stage in front of 3000 people without a screen.
Guess which one of us feels better about it.
