  • Thumbs up.... I somehow managed to plug it to a 3.5" upsidedown..... twice. I went to take off my jumper (was set to slave) when I plugged it back it I saw it was the wrong way. Hey, I just woke up and had my 1st cup of coffee..... It's working now. Thanks for the vid.

  • Thanks for the video! I agree the instructions are crap. I bought the same unit (now supporting up to 3TB harddrives) and it didn't even come with instructions. The only question I have is do you have to mess around with "master" / "slave" settings for IDE hard drives? I have two old IDE drives with family pictures I won't to transfer and I can't remember how they were setup in my old computer. Thanks for any help!

  • Thank you so much for this video... agreed that the instructions leave a lot to be desired. You solved my problem... didn't have the drive powered on before connecting it to the USB. Now the computer recognizes the drive.

I needed to recover a database in a crashed computer for the business... you saved the day!

    Thanks again!

  • I bought this for $23.00 in Toronto I got it home and hooked it to a WD2500JB 250 gig 7200 RPM HD and I moved about 14 gigs in about 5 and a half min

I don't think the speed is that slow 21 gigs in 7 min this is awesome it does both IDE and Sata for a cheap price

  • ive seen the cable that needs no external power. you think those will work just as good , amybe yours was moving it slower cos your old hard drive is old and crapping out

  • I was going to pick this up because I have been having problems with 5 hard drives(3 laptops,2 3.5 dino disks) but maybe ill look into a better one if it takes 20 mins to move a single gig. Thanks. Oh on a random note, I think there is someone(just one person) who watches every youtube video and thumbs down it.
