  • NBC feeds on Ku digital. Ku Sucks when there's rain! Hate loosing the signal in severe weather and putting the C-Band rain fade on air. Why can't they just use C-Band as their primary feed? Stupid NBC!

  • @thebigpoopful 'cause it is a loop back signal for the external mobile units in europe. It's more simple have a 30 inc, dish on the little trucks used for live feeds than a big C band antenna. Also this signal is for Europe where none have a C band antenna, and i can guarantee that here Ku works with snow too, if you think that Eutelsat works with a 12" dish...

  • @satwolf78 KU does NOT work in severe thunderstorms! That's my point. Don't recall asking your opinion.

  • @thebigpoopful Democratic... It's my channel, if i want i tell my opinion.

  • I am guessing you got this from a C-Band Satellite. If not can you let me know where you got it from, I have been looking all over.

  • @TheFlipVlogs Ku Band on Telstar 12 at 15°, there are 4 feeds from WNBC, one is only MSNBC, 1 is NBC NY and others 2 are for feeds from middle east and Europe. You can find all the frequencies on kingofsat website.

  • In the late 1980s, the music piece by John Williams called "Scherzo for Today" was played during these local commercial breaks. Most viewers only heard a little bit of it as "Today"'s daily closing music. A fuller version was used during Friday closing credits in late 1988. Back then the "weather scroll" also worked its way alphabetically through the cities of NBC stations, but ended with a national "Today's Highs" weather map. The final station was WHIZ-TV in Zanesville, Ohio, I recall.

  • @satwolf78 Right, I do not have a C-Band satellite, i was just checking to see if that is where you got it from.

  • This has been a tradition since the show started in the 60's. NBC would run national weather forcasts during the local spotbreaks for stations that did not have a commercial load in that period. They also run additonal Today show feeds live at :25 and :55.

  • The point is that this recording was made in Italy were receive NBC is near at the impossible...
