On October 6 (not Oct. 13, oops) ten thousand people gather in Portland to demonstrate our solidarity with Occupy
Wall Street. This video is my attempt to capture the spirit and message of this gathering. It was obviously more than this. It was the beginning of an occupation and a movement with an uncertain future.

  • you pussies that still stand behind this broke ass system, and support it, regardless of what you want, the people who have opened their eyes, are actually starting to see that this has been fucked long before occupy took a look. also whats even funnier, is that when this gets violent, its going to spread like wildfire, and its coming to your front doors, and you will have to make a choice, open your eyes, and tearing down what the fuck you believe in, then spitting in your face :) enjoy!

  • These people have no clue what they're talking about. It's funny how nothing they say makes any sense. They just repeat what anyone says. I'm not exactly sure what they're goal is. I don't think they have one. The girl who says the economy is ruining her education just wants attention. Why should an economy keep you from learning? You can learn anything you ever need to learn online.....for free. Hard work is what makes success. You work hard and then make money, not the other way around.

  • 1968 called, they want their hippies back.

  • fuck i can't wait for the "baby boomers" to start dying off....you ruined our country when ironically your parents saved it and were the GREATEST generation.

  • wow..I lost my job last year. within a month I created a consulting firm that now does over $3M a year & employs over 20 people. it took passion, energy, commitment, convinction, and a lot of hard work. I want NOTHING from the government. The ONLY thing I want from govnmnt is LESS of it. Get rid of obama, get rid of regs, and let me produce jobs that keep americans employed. I dont have time to be a whiner like Portland or any other city

  • O.K. it seems most of you here all support this nonsense. So can any of you explain what the hell this is about. "This is what Democracy looks like" well then I am certainly pleased that we are a republic and not a democracy. All of you 60's loser hippies need to get a clue. Your freedom to be you includes my freedom to be free from you. By birth you are not owed anything, you have an opportunity not a guarantee. You have your life, your liberty and your freedom. I, by my birth do not owe you!

  • I wasn't there. But this gave me goose-bumps. I especially like the doctor as he got at the core of it for me: I'm sick to death of EVERYTHING in this country being about "MONEY". There's alot more to us than just being bought and sold. We need to talk to each other more and listen to commercialism LESS!

  • Great stuff...really captured the spirit of this movement -- I haven't been this excited about a social movement in decades...

  • Maybe the best response to partisan gridlock is bi=causeship among the opposition.

Nothing will make the our "leaders" tremble more than facing a reasonably-united population.

  • @dffiske Yes, there is lots of convergence, esp. among libertarians. Not everyone in this march agrees with everyone else - in fact there are probably many differences - but there is much overlap in analysis and preferred corrections.
