Bits taken from Francis Schaeffer's video of How Should We Then Live series where the L'Abri kids re-enact the Schaefferrian rendition of a first or second century house-church gathering. Comments added by cthaun@rethinker.net. This video opened my eyes years ago to how drastically the concept of church has changed.

  • I might phrase is a bit differently, but I like the spirit with which you say this!

  • The blood poured out of Christ Jesus at last supper is the truth in words shown to all mankind. The unleavend bread is the word of God that has no change.

  • I scrubbed out the sound and the video quality is a bit lame. But this was magical to me back in 1996 because it gave me my first glimpse of a house church. Having become thoroughly disenchanted with the megachurch i was in, this glimpse gave me hope that perhaps the thing i had come to know as "church" was something greatly transmogrified and devolved from the original model. I hope this somehow conveys some of the same magic to others.
