Avon Valley Railway 'End of Season Gala' visit Saturday 15/10/11 feat. 5043 tour

Expanding the 'End of Season Gala' at the Avon Valley Railway to a two-day event with an all steam line up made this the railway's most ambitious event to date. Returning to its original preservation home was 'Black 5' number 45379 from the Mid Hants Railway. Two other guests to the line were the South Devon Railway's 'Pannier' number 1369 and the Llangollen Railway's Hunslet tank named 'Jessie'. Also for the first time trains would be able to pass in Bitton station each carrying passengers, however sadly the day wasn't without problems as a point problem at Bitton South Ground Frame prevented platform 2 from action and so a revised service operated. The engines working goods and passenger trains between Oldland Common, Bitton and Avon Riverside were --

Also seen at the end of the video is 'The Berks & Hants Aquae Sulis' tour return leg headed by Tyseley's GWR 'Castle' number 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' running through Keynsham to Solihull from Bristol Temple Meads.

nice video mate, the shots from the embankment were good! i'll have to go there next time, nice shot of the black 5 out of avon riverside, also nice shot of 5043 to end the video. liked!

shame about the problems but still look a good event. liked the triple header with 7151, Karel and 1369 and of 45379 heading though the trees. good shot of 5043 also
