  • I am looking to scan in magstripe information and import that number into my application. Is there an SDK that I can use with this hardware?

    Thanks.

  • @spamhere3 Please contact sales[at]idtechproducts[dot]com so that we can work with you to get you everything you need for our SDK. Thank you for your interest in the ID TECH UniMag!

  • Can UniMag do Drivers' Licenses?

  • @dealermagic The ID TECH UniMag can read a variety of magnetic stripes, including driver's licenses, credit cards, signature debit cards, gift cards, loyalty cards, and ID badges.

  • So is it encrypted? Because if it's not then your pretty much just facilitating raw transaction data just like square is...

  • @dudeguyo6 Of all mobile card reader manufacturers, only ID TECH’s readers encrypt data with financial industry proven & PCI approved Triple DES, or AES data encryption and use DUKPT key management in all of their mobile readers’ electronics. The card data is encrypted in the reader, meaning data is secure before leaving the reader, making it impossible to intercept un-encrypted data. This ensures that the data read by an ID TECH mobile reader is secured and NOT subject to credit card fraud.

  • Square is not better unless you are a hacker.

  • I think im just going to stick with Square. The user-interface on this app is horrible.
