- You drive your car about 77% daytime in good weather and don't need to use lights. Using them 24 hours a day you use them 5x more - the higher risk of malfunction and the higher destruction of headlights.
So your lights if you need them at night wont work fine - for 1 or 2 years of everyday use they will be working very BAD ....
USE YOUR LIGHTS WITH LOGIC - When it's dark turn them on - when it's a day - turn them off. Think about pedestrians, cyclists, motorbikes - they want to live TOO !!

The next bad thing about the lights
- It is very hard to see other car speed or distance when it is using lights and comming from opposite direction or in the mirror - (because from any distance it looks similar - like two shining points)
- Sometimes you don't see STOP lights at daytime (when you are running on lights the rear lights are also on)
- The motorbikes and mopeds, ambulances etc. are LESS VISIBLE
- The pedestrians are less visible when the cars are using lights

Also - the same situation was in Austria - the number of injured people or vehicle accidents (especialy with bikes, motorbikes, mopeds and pedestrians) went up. From 1.01.2008 in Austria YOU CAN NOT USE YOUR LIGHTS AT DAYTIME.
When they changed their regulations and allowed people to NOT USE lights at daytime in their cars the number of accidents has gone down by 7% outside the cities (5% less people killed in accidents) and 4% in the cities (7% less people killed in accidents).
LIGHTS OFF

Listen to this.
I live in a coutry (40 milion people) in Poland - where from 2 years we HAVE to use your lights all the time.
What are the consequences ??
The number of fatal crashes went up from 5243 to 5583 - so 340 people more died after lights on mandatory. From 1997 the fatal crashes number was going down. The lights stopped that and more people died.
There was +40% more crashes with motocyclists and 8% more crashes with pedestrians.
There was more crashes and more injured people.
