  • @zassounotsukushi the ATMEA1 has no medium pressure injection system, so the accumulators have to make the transition from LOCA to low pressure injection. The EPR ist different, it has 4 x 100% medium pressure injection system (MHSI) plus small, conventional accumulator tanks. The EPRs accumulators have to make a smooth transition from LOCA to MHSI and hence, are only tanks with water under pressure.

  • 1:05 I have been seeing lots of literature on accumulator design recently (that flow damper device in particular), and it makes sense to me to see it here since that literature was mostly Mitsubishi, APWR related. Does the EPR use the same principle, or something different?
