If yours is a 50cc that's normal, if it's a 150cc then you'll need to adjust your valves.

I HAD LANCE ESPRIT SE 50CC. IT WAS A GREAT SCOOTER. MAX 50MPH NO BLOCKADE ON THE ENGINE... BUT UNFORTUNATELY I SOLD:( BUT THOSE MACHINES ARE GREAT;) PLUS PLUS AND PLUS:)

how long did it take you to get the lance moped?

Thanks for the info Joe! I'm sad you let it go. There are many rims and tire choices in the after market places but very pricey. I wear glasses to ( I hope they don't get all bounced around). I am a small guy at 148lbs. I hope this thing works for me because I have to pay for it tomorrow, LOL! The dealership prepped it tonight. Thanks for your insight and vid. I'll make a vid of mine this weekend.
Have a good one Joe!

After putting on just 338 miles, I sold it yesterday (7-12-08). I'm going to save up for a bigger scooter. Possibly a Suzuki Burgman. The main reason for selling is the small tires transfer alot of road vibration and since I have to wear glasses, this causes blurry vision when they shake from all the vibration. The other reason is the slowing down going up hills. I'm a bit heavy for a 150cc. Other than that, it's a great scooter.

So what do you think of it now? Do you have any further reviews? I would like to hear what you like and dislike.

Top speed is around 50mph for me. It takes awhile to get up to that speed but I don't trust it to go faster anyway. Those small tires let you feel every bump in the road. No problems so far but then again I have hardly ridden it. The weather here hasn't been the best.

Great scooter. How do you like your lance so far?
I have the same scooter, but it has a hard time going past 35mph. I weigh 185lbs. Any guess why you got such better speed out of yours?
