You also need to understand the proper variations of music and the use proper use of maguindanao musical instruments. Like for example, the Gandingan is used for the routine Silong sa Ganding. As in your case, also need to know when will you insert the maguidanao music in the dance.

As you study the literature of the maguindanao dances you will understand the nature and its composition. Maguindanao war dance is known for its fast and alert routines.

I think your dancers did not perform the proper maguidanao war dance. Your dance was a slow motion version.
