@MrNativeDancer Every dog that was bred to do something will have that tendency. Fighting dogs were not bred to attack their handlers or people but other dogs. So I'm sure PBT fans through the years tried to get them to do all sorts of things and I'm sure some had limited success. Working dogs bred through the centuries to do a specific job cannot be easily replaced. Peoples lively hood depended on it. So as many APBT are born not to fight the breed will become less dog aggressive.

@cat5fan In the early years, they tried to make the Staffy bigger so it could guard plantations in America. Only idiots fight dogs against dogs, which some bred them to do. Now I suggest you research the Colbys Pincher line of PBT look how many of that line where bred as farm and plantation protectors.In the right hands they are inteligent and great dogs Great if brought up with other animals, Youtube "SHARKY THE PITBULL" Am outa here dude.

@clebervic - And for this reason they were not taken on the frontier. They could not afford to lose their dogs every time they encountered dangerous game. The very thing that makes them top of the fighting ring disqualifies them from nature. Self preservation has been removed. Mankind is sick!

@solidpitbull9211 - maybe English is not your first language. I said the PBT is the only true dog bred for fighting. All others such as herding dogs used in fighting, like the Presa will not compare. I would explain more but you would not understand.

@cat5fan you seem out of the topic. this thread is all about fighting in which breed is the best and here u r suggesting topic that is not in this thread. sledding is not the intention of the apbt for.u r right apbt were bred to fight and why would u put them into sled when they weren't bred for this.Bring me all the huskies,siberian,alaskan,malam­ute and we put them in the pit or ring together with the apbts.lets see whos gunna last at the end.apbt has proven to be the best in weight pulling too

I agree with the guy beneath me. And I have 3 pits and a American bulldog. But I don't thing there so dumb just they throw caution to the wind when they're gona fight or kill something.
