  • hand written courtesy? bogus... no one EVER does that :D

  • @skershaw2000 Sorry, but I am from Berlin and showing up on time is standard and not doing so is considered impolite. It may be different in some social circles, but the majority of people like punctuality.

  • @0Turbox

You're right - the Octoberfest goes three weeks.

but for serious: that is like 6% of the whole year - 3 weeks out of 52 weeks..

But yes. We are (like some people think as a clischee) the Lederhosen wearing and beer drinking Germans; all year around.

  • Interesting video... Which of those points aren't there in the engish/american etiquette? I'd agree to almost all points (Just at a formal dinner with strangers or almost-strangers, not at a meeting with friends) except the card at the end. That's not usual, never heard of it, but it'd be a nice idea. Plus, if the host isn't as formal, you can be(have) more like yourself, too. But never forget the politeness, if you don't know the other people enough^^

  • Die Musik ist das Grauen schlechthin!!!

  • Gott wie klischeehaft ist das denn???

  • dinner sucked :D

  • Absolutely right. But first of all make sure you are a good looking young lady when you come for dinner!!!

You obviosly are... so all well donne :)

  • @RuewaSarah

    3 weeks!

  • @zoodle85 yeah dude, its just different all over... again, I lived in Berlin so that even departs from German traditions purposely... not as conservative as Bayern, etc. then again in Berlin, showing up on time, other than a hot date, is sort of "too establishment/conventional" and sort of frowned upon... but dinner parties usually consist of going until midnight or later and then hitting clubs or something.
