I got my wig making supplies quicker than I expected, so I am sharing them with you and showing you my attempts are learning to ventilate a crown and vertex onto tulle (for practice only!).

  • will it still work if u use a large hook in small lace holes when applying the hair to the lace, also if i am creating a dark blue wig should i still use blue tape to cover my wig block, also are u using a hackle? thanks

  • @MrArtist888 You can cover your wig block with regular (white/cream) masking tape instead of the blue tape if you are using blue hair. It is better to use a proper ventilation hook if you are using fine lace - even the larger sizes of those are still quite small like a needle and should work okay. I am not using a hackle as the hair I will be using is already sorted. If you buy raw bulk hair, you should technically use a hackle to get rid of the weak hairs.

  • @vlal28 hey i orderd the hair from banbury postiche will it already be sorted, where did you get yours from also, the hooks! what is the difference between korean and german hooks? thanks

  • @MrArtist888 I have gotten my hair from various sources. The stuff I will be using on the wig I am making at the moment is actually coming from another wig - long story short, it's too small & way too much hair so I am going to make a better wig using the same hair! The ventilating needles, I got from Banbury Postiche. The German hooks are shaped like more of a number 7 and the Korean are shape like a J (so the Korean looks like the end of a hockey stick). Just Personal preference!
