T. Boone wants to help America, while he bankrolls profits from natural gas. Who cares, its better than bankrolling the middle east. BUT...think the oil traders will continue to jack up the prices everytime a hurricane hits the U.S.? You know the answer....it just happened with IKE. You can drill till the cows come home, price jacking is not going to stop.
Its better to just cut these guys out (oil traders) of the equation all together....

You should be asking why oil companies only drill on 25% of the areas for which they have leases.Current T.Boone Pickens tv ads have seriously flawed info.Pickens is the same clown who financed the Swift boat ads during the 2004 presidential campaign.After 4 years it appears there is an effort to get to the bottom of the ads which were lies.He offered one million $ for anyone to dispute the original claim and later withdrew the offer when it appeared he would have to pay.Not a nice guy.

OperationTailGunner-Republicans were attempting to do what republicans do-making fatcats fatter. They NEVER take the side of the little guy particularly when it comes to anything of significance. I agree with all that you say but sadly we have a country with a large percentage of naive, small minded voters who simply do not understand what we are up against. Their ignorance allows our leaders to continue with business as usual. Your long-term solutions certainly make sense.

It really does not matter wheather its oil, nickel cadmium batteries or Helium-3. Its mostly about a group of money changers draining all of us dry because they control the market for a vital resource. Cut these people out of the equation and they go away to find someone else to rob!!!
Every citizen should find a way to envoke a financial blockade. Think Boston tea party!!!

The Democrats have plenty of "long term" solutions, like wind power, solar power, biofuels, that do nothing for the immediate problem and that will allow the economy to expand. Nuclear power is our best long term solution, but we need oil now. Drill!

This entire energy crisis is mostly a mind game orchestrated by election year mud slingers (the usual suspects)
Republicans this week attempted to kill a bill introduced to crack down on oil speculators...they failed on this round.

The best long-term solution is to convert to electric or hybrid vehicles and convert your money into gold and Euros, that will send out a STRONG MESSAGE
