Once again: thanks Lee for doing so much...!!! My opinion is, that Matt is not comparable with anyone else. He has learned from others, yes...and from the vacuum cleaner and the washing-machine too... (read his book!), but he has done and he does his own thing in a great professional wise and just a little you can´t compare "2nd Chapter" with another group, because they´ve developed their own style with very difficult harmonies, which sounded overwhelming well...!

First I wanna say, Chizmo, shut up, opinions are JUST opinions, it shows ur maturity to say the things you have said. Second, I am new to Mathew Ward, embarrassingly, and I tell you, I am a vocalist and it takes alot to impress me, but I'm impressed! I will be a life long fan of Mr Ward!!!! This is just goooooood stuff!!!!

This song is making me cry :-). I used to have the cassette tape.:-) I would love to get all his stuff on CD. I do have Keaggy and 2nd Chapter of Acts live set A Band Called David. What a great investment that was. :-)

@Llelandj Thank you SO much for posting these videos. I can't get over how PERFECT Matthew sounds live! I was never lucky enough to see him live, but Armed and Dangerous and Fade to White were two of my very favorite records as a kid. His voice always blew me away on record, but... my word... hearing him live... I almost can't believe that he's not lip syncing!!!! Perfect... what a gift to us from GOD!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Oh and you and the rest of the band are fantastic!!!!

@Llelandj Really Stupid remark. Stevie wrote, sang and played ALL the instruments on "Music of my mind", Talking book", Innervisions", "Fulfillingness first finale" all when he was still in his early twenties. He is known as a phenomenal keyboard player, one of the best harmonica players in the world. He is a genius.
I LOVE Matthew's voice but for you to say he is "ahead" of Stevie Wonder proves you are clueless. I know Matthew would agree.
......Typical sheltered narrow minded Christian.

to chizmo7: what i believe is being said is that, while this style of music was widely embraced in the secular genre, it wasn't in the christian genre. i grew up in the 70s/80s with motown, fania allstars & amy grant all playing in my house. believe me, christian music took a while to warm up to this style of music...

Thank you for your kind remarks, I remember this music very fondly and I'm glad others can appreciate it as well. I got a call today from the keyboard player in these videos and he was one of the big reasons that Matthew and the band sounded as we did. He (Jim Tenneboe) co-wrote the songs you hear, and he created all the keyboard parts, both live and those that are flown in by sequencers etc. Matthew is an absolute freak when it comes to doing things perfectly every time musically. Unreal!

chizmo7...I just believe Matt's a better live singer. You have a right to your opinion, but to call me a "Typical sheltered narrow minded Christian" without knowing anything about me is not exactly enlighted. My roots are in progressive Rock, R&B and Jazz. I spent years playing with secular artists in many settings. One of many was Oleta Adams, who I played with for years. She kicks Stevie's butt live too, and I'll bet Stevie would agree!
Sorry I offended Stevie fans, but you've offended me.

Thanks for your comments.... as for whether Matt was ahead of his time or not, all I can say is that having seen Stevie Wonder perform badly live on numerous occasions, and having seen Matthew perform flawlessly hundreds and hundreds of times, I know he's at LEAST ahead of Stevie! (And I love and respect Stevie)

Thanks for your comments. I posted these for people like you who can appreciate Matt's talent but may never have seen him perform live. We only ever did all of this material live just this once, although we did do a couple of these songs as a part of the 2nd Chapter Of Acts concerts in the last couple of years they were together. Thanks again for your interest.
