This movie was made in 1976, but isn't it amazing how all the things he is saying could so easily pertain to today? It's universal stuff.

I feel like my mind has been given over to the tube when I was kid and sat just foot away from the tv, as they spun messages into my mind that nobody can conceive, I am waking up to the fact that they want us to feel free although there is signs all over that say "your our slave" "You are a prisoner to our wealth system" "We own your mind" Not only that the tv will tell you, you are guilty or your free, and play tricks on you YOUR FAMILY AND NEIGHBORS! Its imprinted and the G-man just sits back.

@whitesagesharon John Taylor Gatto's books DUMBING US DOWN (short book/series of essays about how compulsory education is designed to dumb down the masses) and also his book UNDERGROUND HISTORY OF AMERICAN EDUCATION, which I think he has free on his website at john taylor gattodotcom. @whitesagesharon Reading books was what propelled me into my radical shift in my perspectives about the world. Books allowed me to break out of my conditioning. In particular, Aldous Huxley (Brave New World, BNW Revisited, and Island, along with some essays on psychedlics), Nietzsche (Human all too human, geneology of morals, the gay science, the antichrist, beyond good and evil), Orwell of course (1984), Noam Chomsky, Alan Watts (The Book: On the Taboo Against Knowling Who You Are) and also
