Do you get words like interested and interesting mixed up? Hopefully, this will help.

*If you watch the Outtakes video, David and I talk about this point when he mentions how frustrating he would be as an actor. Look for it!

  • Thanks for the video!! It has helped me in my pronounciation!! Can you teach us how to pronounce the word loved? I can't seem to pronounce the 'v' in between...and for the word ornament, i have problems with the 'or'...hope you can help me!! Thanks a lot for the video again!

  • @kellyylt

Really good question. Because the "v" is in the middle of the word, the sound if usually very light because you're barely touching your lip with your teeth. But try to touch while blowing out air & you should get it.

As for "ornament", remember that the "r' sound comes from the back of the throat, so start to say the "oh" sound and then move the sound to the back of your throat by pushing the back of your tongue back (hope that makes sense).

    Good luck! : )

  • Hey Signe! you're a great teacher! I'm learning so much

    with your classes...

but, I have some doubts, and I'd appreciate if you could

explain me the pronunciation differences between words that end with "k" and

    "g"...like "thing" and "think"!!

    thanks!

  • Hi Rellen,

In one of my other videos, I explain that the letters ng, together, make a sound similar to the "n" sound, but slightly different. So you may want to check that out.

As for the k in think, it has the "k" sound like in cat.

    Hope that helps.

  • Hello teacher and Esther! I like your lessons because it's funny and I learn how speak a good english thing that in my school I don't learn. I'm spanish and I learn English in my school but I'm also in a idioms school but I prefer your class becouse It's funny and when I have time I see it and I'm not losing study time. I hope you understand why I'm traying to say so thanks for the class goodbye.

  • I'm glad you enjoy watching my videos. And the kind words are always nice to hear.

    Thanks,

    Signe

  • Thanks for the kind words. And thanks for telling me that you're sharing my videos. I appreciate that.

As for your story idea. I think it's great. As a matter of fact, when I teach in the classroom, I love telling students stories about my experiences to reinforce what I just taught them. However, I hadn't thought about using them in my videos. Hmm....It's something to think about.

    Thanks!
