Explaining the 1 inch punch. First of all, its a demonstration, so its true what you see is not truly what you get. Due to the fact, that the wing chun punch in actual application drops people where they stand, and not pushes them back. But, for the sake of the demonstration, what you see is a push, but you still see the main thing that wing chun displays and that's explode power. The 1 inch punch power comes from relaxation, but it doesn't stem from tensing at the end, or the wrist, but actually from the body. Finally, in this demonstration, a random person was asked from out of the crowd, if they would like to feel the power, obviously, you don't blast someone off his feet, who isn't your student your demonstrating it on.

  • As with Akido, the "fall guy" always makes the master look good. But have that same "fall guy" stand in front of you, feet shoulder width apart, phone book held up to his chest, and I GUARANTEE you could simply push him over, with one hand and virtually no effort. His stance makes him unstable. The "punch", therefore, simply adds a dramatic flair. Everyone is impressed, yet a child could have pushed him over in that stance. Think about it.

  • @seattle0002 @seattle0002 i totally agree. people look for the magic punch,,not saying it wouldn't hurt in solar, damn it would,i did wing chun myself,,,,but, big but!!!! is it a KO punch? hardly to imagine,,,there is nooooooooooo way in the world that o good right hand punch with pivotal hip turn, with weight behind can b replaced by this rabit push,,,and btw, those aikido demonstrations make me puke

  • @georgewild2000 you guys should be Facebook friends, coz dumb people should stick together

  • @seattle0002 you need to be on the receiving end... and for you personally brace so you can feel the entire impact

  • he moved his hand back about 5 or 6 inches before he did it!!!!

  • @georgewild2000

    Completely agreed, guys.

  • @seattle0002 you are wise jedi master

  • omg, why does everybody think that everybody can be deadly with the one inch punch, there is always different ways, and btw to do this move 100% right, well then you must be bruce lee, or a FU,, master that have trained many years, like 25. or something, my point is you can't say it isntd deadly because it all depends on the pusher" the fighter,

  • thats no 1 inch punch because he moved his body and hand back a little bit there for making it like a 2inch punch lol

  • that was more than 1'' for sure!

  • fuck off u fake....lair....u come here i'll teach u that

  • I used to think the one inch punch was a push until i felt it. The instructor put his fist against my chest and told me to put a hand over his hand to feel if he's pulling back or not. Sure enough, without pulling his hand off my chest, I still felt that impact as if he had started a distance away.

  • if anyone compares bruce lees punch and this one. they would see that this guy actually pulls his hands more back than bruce lee. bruce actually does an "one inch punch
