  • What range did you zero your rifle at? At what range should i zero in my 270?

  • @nate326988 Nate, I`m not up on 270 ballistics. We zero`d the .243 at 259 yards (so 2.36 inches high at 100yrds) that gives me a 4 inch radius kill shot without having to aim off out to 300 yrds, at 400 yrds I am -15 inches with 62 grain VGs. So anything out to 300 yrds I just aim straight on, outside of that I use my dope sheet on my stock. Check your ballistic data. easy to figure out. There is a great iphone ap that I use called Ballistic FTE

    Thanks for the question

    Aedan

  • @CHCDirect okay another question.. how strong of a scope should i purchase? i'm debating on wether to buy a 3-9x50 scope or a 6-20x50 scope with mil-dots.

  • @nate326988 3-9 x 50 is an excellent choice. 50 mm great for low light and the 3-9 good for close range or longer shots.

  • I wish i would of been able to do what you do with your boy. With my boys. Your living the dream! Coyote hunting in the woods of ohio is very tough. Lots and lots of empty stands. But it is fun to get out and hunt those smart dogs! Great filming too I must say!

  • @rednecklowlife Thanks for the comments, and thanks for watching. I have been very fortunate that both my boys enjoy the outdoors as much as I do (If not more than me) and we do live in a great spot for it.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  • Ok aedan that was a terrible shot just saying, you should have let him come in much closer you would have got umm you should work on letting them get close trust me thats all i do and it is so much more fun.

  • @CHCDirect the main reason why I said i want to use it as a rifle scope is because im

a little short on money at the time and trying to get as much with what i

have. i wont hunt with it on high power, but ill use it to help out with

what i cant see from a distance. i live in arizona and we have a lot of

wide, open plains. Also, do you have any tips for a beginner like myself?

    thanks

  • @CHCDirect now what about using the higher powered zoom as a spotting scope? i dnt have the extra money to buy a nice set of binos or a spotting scope. so ive been thinking about getting a 6-20x50 mil-dot scope. what are your thoughts? P.M. me if you can

  • Love the safety tip vid... made my 9yr old boy laugh out loud!

  • @duckman4hire Hey thanks for watching and what a great idea! We'll film that tomorrow and put it on one of our shows! I'll post on here also.

    Thanks for the imput!

and ya, he's almost taller than me at 13 yrs old now.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  • I subscribed last week and have enjoyed browsing through the video of the kid. Predator hunting has become the newest venture on my outdoor to do list and have started to acquire the proper gear. I'm curious if there is a video planned on how you utilize the Foxpro in terms of sound choice, frequency, volume, and other tricks of the trade? If the kid get any taller, we'll have to call him the yote young man... take care and thanks for sharing.
