This beautiful song was written by Andy Cummings while he was away from the islands on a cold, foggy nite while on tour in Lansing, Michigan in 1938. The tuning is B11 - lo to high: A B C# D# F# A C# E. I used my Jerry Byrd "Fry Pan" Steel Guitar on this one...visit my website for more info....www.rosscosta.com

  • Love it! I was a lifeguard at Ft. DeRussy in 1978. The pedal steel just takes you back the islands when its played!

  • i love the steel guitar... but not constantly

  • Mr. Costa, I was looking on iTunes for Ohta-san and found a beautiful rendition of Waikiki by him. It is on his Hawaiian Suite album. I strongly recommend you (and anyone else reading this) to check it out.

  • ha!
