Love this film, so amazing! Yes, this is a reedit showing various parts of the film...the film actually does tell a story...or actually four, if I remember correctly. If could please re-edit your description to give credit to Kalatozov, that would be most respectful. It's great that Scorsese and Copollo made an effort o share it with a wider western audience, but many directors have been influenced by this film and they should not be erroneously credited for it. Thanks.

I don't understand why u keep posting this masterpiece of Kalatozov ( Kalatozishvili) as the movie of Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Copolla, thats ignorant...

@Filmosofia not everyone in this world can afford to buy movies, especially in the price that the 'industry' sells it. If you have so much money and want to spend it,then why not buying and delivering it to me.

It is soviet movie directed by M. Kolatososhvili, Mosfilm studio. His greatest film is "The cranes are flying"
No, I have not heard about any remake. I don't really think it needs a remake, I think it is fine just as it is.

It was made in 1964. Yes, it dramatizes the conditions in Cuba before Castro and the reasons for the revolution. It also dramatizes part of the revolution itself. The cinematography is just amazing - I could not take my eyes off the screen for the entire film. I was spellbound by it.
