Skiers from across Ontario taking part in the Northern Ontario Division "Witness the Fitness" training camp capped off their weekend of intensity with an uphill rollerski time trial. Racers did 2 to 5 repetitions of the 700m course, depending on developmental age, with full recovery inbetween.
Here we see Chris Hamilton (401) , Erin Creasor (402), Eli Heyden Thomas (407) , Scott Hill (408), Evan Odell (406), Lucas Shewen (403), and Candace Ball (405) racing their hearts out. The course records were set today, with the King of the Hill being NTDC's Chris Hamilton, with the fastest time of 1.35.7, and the now reigning Queen of the Hill Erin Tribe, posting a standard-setting time of 1.59.3. The effort was a hard one; as Candace reflects, "I can't feel my legs."

The time trial took place on the campus of Nipissing University, beginning at the lower residences and heading up the Monastary pathway. Nipissing University is THE place to ski and study, with good, supported training opportunities, many kilometers of forest trails, and 5km of groomed trails for skate and classic skiing.
The training camp was hosted by North Bay Nordic and Nipissing Nordic, supported by the Northern Ontario Division, Cross-Country Ontario, Cross-Country Canada, and the Thunder Bay National Training Development Centre.
Now we are ready to ski race.
