You probably know this by now, these are empty. There is even a theory that the MF Global scandal was an attempt to prevent everyone from finding out that the COMEX was really mostly EMPTY. Something you might find interesting, relating to the comex: Check our the 4 companies that control 147 corporations and run the world. Aside from the vampire squid, that is. (Physical gold n solver = cash $)

Those 2x and 3x ETF are the biggest scam. Those things can be shorted over and over again. You can actually make more than 100% on the downside finally. These ETF are worthless and they lose intrinsic value at a fast rate than the market.

Short term, they're great to use as offset mechanisms; which I think their individual prospectus mentions. Long term, the bleed is just deadly when leverage comes into play.

People need to realize that leveraged ETFs are trading vehicles, not investment vehicles.
Of course, I bet Scope would say nothing is an investment vehicle because "investing" sucks. :P

What happens if you short both long and short together? Will they cancel each other during market moves but over the long-term, consume themselves with expenses?
