Very true, the Normans were never happy been identified as French, they were part of their own and a bigger world than that. They had been travelling south and east for years where no-one else was, but most of all the Normans were more assured and assertive of their own identity as a people and country than at any time in their history during the 1050s.
And furthermore the differences continue even further between the French/Normans with Geoffrey II count of Anjou failing to...

I do agree with you on William, and he was reknown for giving his army licence to pillage, rape, burn and kill freely as they went, so yes in many ways it was the death of the English monarchy.

And we are still under occupation to this day as 1% of the population owns 70% of the land and descend from the Norman invaders!

i agree i think u could actuallu make a pretty good fps perspective hack n slash hame with simple controls that would still be exciting and challenging. I would really like to come up with a concept n pitch it to a games developer, it could be done a lot easier than i think most people would think
