Al Dressen of Al Dressen's Super Swing Revue sings this Texas classic Beautiful Beautiful Texas that W. Lee O'Daniel wrote in 1937 then recorded and performed it with His Hillbilly Boys later know as The Light Crust Doughboys. This was a western swing extravanganza night at Jovita's in Austin, Texas for Bob Wills Texas Drummer Boy Johnny Cuviello whom turned 93 in August. The core of the backup band, tho it changed during the evening with a multitude of musicians and singers, shown here was Jason Roberts-fiddle, Elizabeth McQueen, Dave Sanger and David Miller all from Asleep at the Wheel.(Eddie Rivers , Cindy Cashdollar and Floyd Domino also performed later). Here on pedal steel guitar are Bert Rivera and Herb Remington, Ray Tesmer-lead guitar, Billy Curtis-sax and Billy Mata-emcee.
Al Dressen is a great man and a legendary singer and bandleader.
