"Lack of discipline is just one of the major problems facing the Afghan army. Nine out of ten enlisted men can't read or write. A lot of them smoke hashish and heroin, which could explain why they have a hard time following orders. Some have also been known to steal from civilians at checkpoints and to sell their American-supplied guns and ammo to the Taliban." -- Tim McGirk, TIME Magazine

  • 9 out of 10 can't read or write and a lot of them smoke hashish and heroin which could explain why they shoot all over the place most of the time... this looks like a Monty Python or Onion sketch, funny shit man...

  • The ANA and ANP would be effective if the Officers and Politicians weren't corrupt warlords and provincial nobles.

They're doing a good job, with the poor equipment and low-intensity training they receive.

Why then are those fighting for Taliban so good?

  • Afghani's grow up in a completely diffrent world from us. In the West we get properly educted from the age of 7. We have excellent schools, universities, libraries, and many millions are spent on education. Most Afghani's are lucky if they can even get a basic education. We can't just expect them to become smart and become good soldiers all of a sudden, it takes time and its hard for these undisciplined, uneducated afghani's to go through intense US military training. Give em a break

  • @ALDdash52 , BULLSHIT FIGURE,, 1 BILLION A MONTH IS TOO MUCH FOR TRAINING.. THEY PROBABLY MEANT 1 BILLION OF TOTAL US ARMY EXPENSE A MONTH.... WITH 1 BILLION A MONTH , I CAN FIX THE WHOLE FUCKING COUNTRY... TRUST ME.. ITS A LOT... THESE PEOPLE JUST THROW UP NUMBERS FROM THEIR STOMACHS WITHOUT EXPLANATION..

  • At one point there army will have to stand alone so well... whatever there fucked

  • @TitoIsTheGreatest

it takes time you know. Rome wasn't built in a day. Afghanistan is only now recovering from decades of war and civil war. So to compare their army to the u.s even any western army is ridiculous. They will take time to get better and become effective but they will become better. its like other countries who built up their militaries even the usa. It takes time to learn. Afghanistan can't educate and provide a safe environment for its people if they are under attack.

  • One Billion a month.

    Say it three times fast

  • @t0k3puff420 Calm down they just don't know. Man i thought stoners are happy.

  • COACH MCGIRK

  • american:"Im gonna check the power steering, oil, and the transmission fluid."

    ANA:"whats the transmission?"

    american:"god fucking damnit!!!

ANA dont need more american drill Sargent they need more kinder garden teachers ' a,b,c,d 1,2,3,4,' >:(
