ive been an Okkervil River fan since their first EP, and I am extremely pretentious when it comes to music, to the point of being douchy. Still I love the last two albums.

I just saw them live for the 4th time. they played a festival here in ireland on Sunday. i then drove across the country to see them in a great little venue last night. fantastic live show. go see them asap

I prefer the elevator version of "A Hand to take Hold of the Scene" over the one on the album. Amazing, how "shapeshifting" this music is; one can play it as a ballad, or as a rock song.
