  • 国内では見かけなくなりましたね。近くで見てると油が飛んできて服が汚れたのを覚えてます。

  • いいねー。最高。排気ガスが真っ黒!バックファイヤーのような火炎も見える。

  • @DataProwler You are 100% right! I admire this sound since childhood...

  • there's something rhymic and relaxing to the working of a piledriver...

  • yes sir, every ones there to feed mouths. we just like to drive pile and talk shit while were doin it! haha

  • Bp should drive a pile into the wellhead in the gulf.

  • @NewarkNation yeah, the inspectors do get bored, they know if they're not there when they need to record the blowcount that we're not waiting for them so they kinda have to be there the whole time. Welding inspectors get annoyed because the welds pass 90% of the time and they act like we're just waisting their time...oh well, everyone's still getting a paycheque

  • @millwalk I am sure it's more involved from a laborer's perspective. I was just speaking from the perspective of the inspection engineer. I know that dockbuilders take great pride in their work. I'm aware that there is much more satisfaction in building a bridge physically than there is just designing it.

  • @NewarkNation I actually love this trade, there's a lot more to it then just driving piles. There are aspects of ironworking, carpentry, lots of different rigging and crane work as well as heavy timber work and all specialized on the water. Of course it's not for everybody. I think you read a little too far into the comment, I meant you either go deaf or just stop noticing it...or a combination of both :)

  • @millwalk Ha! Good one. Driving piles is one of the most involved and uninteresting duties of all. I would much rather do minipiles or tieback inspection.
