In preparation for my upcoming trip to Greece, I'm trying to learn some basic Greek -- starting with the alphabet. Here's my version of a Greek alphabet song, to the familiar tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." With bonus vocabulary at the end!

Lyrics:
Alpha
Beta
Gamma
Delta
Epsilon
Zita
Ita
Iota
Theta
Lambda
Kapa
Mi
Ni
Ksi
Omicron
Pi
Rho
Sigma
Taf
Ipsilon
Phi
Hi
Psi
Omega
Ya su -- ti kanes? Poli kala! Ksereis ellinka? Tora kano, ne!
(Hello -- how are you? Very good! Do you speak Greek? Now I do, yes!)

  • Πολύ καλή δουλειά =] έκανες ένα μικρό λάθος στην αλφαβήτα... alpha , beta , gamma, delta , epsilon , zita ,ita , THETA and IOTA :) αλλά τα κατάφερες =] μπράβο !

  • geia sou ti kaneis? ston petaw kai ton pianeis

  • @tsoumas thanks

  • @long156ki Its pronounced Mi and Pee

  • Its Harry Potter

  • ok that was awesome

  • @kingzxcvbnm1 Its not that "we all speak greek and dont even know it"

Its that many language/civilizations (as far as europe/english is concerned) derived from that.

For example, english takes many words from latin (or variations of latin words)
