I miss my little blond wire haired, Li'l Bailes. He was a rescue, and he absolutely stole my heart. Wirehairs seem to possess all that is most noble in a dachshund with a sense of humor added.

I own a wire haired dotson, shes two years old...She is absolutely the best dog I've ever had...We rescued her from the pound when she was only 6 weeks old, she had just arrived a couple of hours before we got there to look for a dog (lucked out!). They said the previous owner really didn't want to give her up, but they had a larger dog that was terrorizing her so they thought it was best to give her up. She was easy to house train too. She sits just like that, when she wants attention.

My parents weinerdawg (I guess my dog too) did that as well. Black and tan, smooth hair... Not the movement with his legs but would just sit up like that.. and wink... for a good five minutes, no kidding. He was the best weiner dog a boy could have. Got second place (photo finish, lost by a nose) at the '94 weiner dog nationals in Wisconsin. Good breed. Strange breed, but very fun and obedient and loving. : )

my dachshund did this (looks exactly like these) when it submitted after fighting anuther dog, but wasn't very gd balanced so he slowly tilted onto his bk nd den had a hard time getting up.
