Incest, Woman Gives Birth to Her Sister

An Australian man and his daughter have created a furor after going on television to admit an incestuous relationship which has produced two children.

John Deaves, 61, appeared on the 60 Minutes show with daughter Jenny, 39, and their child -- nine-month-old Celeste, Melbourne's The Age newspaper reported.

Last month Judge Steven Millsteed banned the couple from having sex with each other, but released them on a three-year, $460 good behavior bond. Court transcripts also revealed their first child died in 2001 from a congenital heart disorder.

The couple told 60 Minutes that they fell in love in 2000 when they "discovered each other later in life." Deaves had left the family home when Jenny was a baby, and did not see her again for 30 years.

@MrJohnboy1984 Also, even now, homosexuality is still seen as wrong by vast numbers of people. It's a myth that society accepts them - society has simply been instructed to accept them, so any bad feeling towards them has been internalised. The same with racism - the world is as racist as ever, but it is now more secretive about it. So, none of these taboos have actually been deconstructed and their subjects have not been accepted - it has just gone underground, where it is harder to control.

@MrJohnboy1984 Incest will never be the next sexual taboo to be decriminalised and accepted worldwide, because once again the health issues with babies will always take importance over the sexual whims of individuals. Even if family members believe they are in love, that does not trump the fundamental human rights issues of potential babies that may be born. If an incest couple doesn't want a baby and has themselves 'fixed', then maybe then under those restrictions it may be legalised, if ever.

@MrJohnboy1984 Incest couples do not have the same rights to have children as gay couples, for one very important reason - gay couples cannot make a child, they can only have one of the two partners give either the sperm or an ovary, depending on the sex of the gay couple. Thus, gay couples are doing no harm in having one, as it should be a perfectly healthy baby. However, incest couples run a great risk of giving birth to a child with health defects and mental deficiencies. This is the issue.

I love how that child psychologist listed mental disorders that normal people suffer from and made it seem like only incest babies have it.

They should be charged with the manslaughter of that child who died of congentical heart disease, as they KNOWINGLY procreated a child that would almost certainly have severe and likely life threatening abnormalities.

I don't care what the sickos do in their bedroom, but when you are deliberately creating kids that are going to be sick and deformed and likely die, then you are crininally culpable and should be in prison.

@jadaphlynnbffs13 So what, they have just as much right to have children as anyone else, if it's ok for same sex couples to have children it's also ok for incest couples to have children and you think it's strange that a child has a father that is also it's grandfather and a mother that is also it's sister well there are people that think it's strange for a child to have two lesbian mothers or two gay fathers.
