@noirkitten In all honesty I think this "argument" is extremely childish. So, let's go ahead and end this. You like the books you like, I like the books I like. Now let's both just shut-up and go do something constructive.
-
@noirkitten That one may not be as exciting, but it's certainly interesting. Anyway, back to my main point. I hate Twilight. I hate it for numerous reasons. And I do accept the fact that some people do enjoy Twilight. But it is in no way okay for you to be so rude to me for the books I like. I was suggesting what I think is good literature. If you didn't like the books I suggested, then you could have actually tried to have an intelligent debate with me. But instead, you chose to insult me.

@noirkitten I prefer things like Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Lord of the Rings... that sort of thing. Harry Potter is my favorite just because it's the type of thing I love, a great story, an amazing plot where everything tied up perfectly and even the smallest detail could be important. It's got action, adventure, comedy, romance... And they all fit together amazingly. Not just the main plot either. If you look at the past, at the story of Harry's parents, there's a great story there too.

@noirkitten Yes, I am a huge Harry Potter geek. But I'm not insane. I'm not going to throw a fit because someone doesn't like the books. I just don't appreciate you insulting me because I like the book. I can't say I don't like Vampire Diaries because I've never read it. I've never seen True Blood either. I am not a huge fan of vampires. I have read Dracula, I've read Shakespeare, I've read Frankenstein, and plenty others too. But I won't lie and say those are my favorite books.
-
@noirkitten I'm perfectly willing to give authors leeway on what defines a 'vampire.' But in Twilight it just delved too far away and into bullshit territory. Drinking blood was the only thing making them vampires.
But even then, I wouldn't be so opinionated if the book was actually WELL WRITTEN. The plot droned on and on without direction for a long time, and shoehorned an action sequence at the last minute to try and create 'dramatic tension.' And, Well, I covered this all in my video already.
-
@noirkitten Nothing you say will change that. Call me a fanatic, call me a geek, call me weird. But I will continue to love Harry Potter. I took the Harry Potter oath and I intend to keep it.

@noirkitten She made us love characters, hate characters... I really don't think I've felt actual hatred for a book character before Harry Potter. I hated Bellatrix for killing Sirius. I hated Fenrir Greyback for cursing Remus with Lycanthropy. And I really grew to care for other characters. While reading Twilight, I found myself not really caring if Bella died. But when reading HP I found myself saddened and angered at the deaths of my favorite characters. I am a die-hard HP fan.

@noirkitten Actually I rather enjoyed Christine. Dracula isn't for everyone, I'll admit that. But just because Harry Potter is popular doesn't mean it isn't good. The story is well written, the characters are believable, it's got a great message... For god's sake, Rowling created an entire new world. With it's own laws and currency and government. She made us laugh with the characters, cry with them. She made us go through the same roller coaster of emotions they did.

@noirkitten Actually, I believe that a 'good' author creates a character that is real and tangible. Characters, even in a fantasy world, shouldn't be so perfect that no one even knows what they look like. Truly great authors create deep, human characters. If you want 'your version' of dazzling, go read bad fan fictions. That's not great literature, that's just intelligent marketing, playing to all of the fan girls who can see themselves as Bella and invent their perfect Edward.
