  • Fun trivia:

The words "under God" were added to the US pledge of allegiance in 1954 as a form of internal propaganda against communism which supported state atheism.

The original pledge of allegiance written by the founding fathers made no reference to God in any way.

  • @Washu1973 Pledge of Allegiance was made by American socialist Francis Bellamy. Not by the Founding Fathers... And so what? About 70% atheists I know are little bit statists/commies and 100% of them are anti-american...

  • God Bless the USA! From Canada with love!

  • @Washu1973 lol go figure right lol

  • @Washu1973 so what... it sounds better with "under God" in it.

  • @theBLACKTRON Oh yeah, and what gives us the right to say "oorah?" The First Amendment, which you so kindly referenced. I can say, for the most part, whatever I desire, as long as it does not infringe on another's rights.

  • @theBLACKTRON Oh, and the "oorah crap" isn't just used by the US Military. In addition, Russia and Canada both use it. Besides, "Hooah" is most likely derived from the acronym "HUA," which may have stood for " Head Up your Ass." (Ironic, isn't it?) It was used to describe newbies to a unit.

  • @theBLACKTRON You know what else this country was founded on? A principle that COMPLETELY refutes your second statement? Freedom FROM religion. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion [...]" is an extremely important line of the US Bill of Rights. And it doesn't just cover laws. It covers nearly every aspect of government.

  • @theBLACKTRON Also have a problem with your statement "This nation was founded on Freedom of Religion. if anyone prefers anti-religious propaganda, go to Canada. You WILL find it there." How do you in one breath say that this country is founded on Freedom of Religion and then say if your against it you need to go somewhere else... that is completely against what you had just said of this country being FREE to follow any faith or non-faith you want.

  • The real shame is that most American's know less about the history of their own Country than people trying to become American have to know just to get citizenship. Without point out names on here that speak without actually reading the stuff they are talking about.

  • @theBLACKTRON Cont... What you are mentioning of god and the men as being equal or not..is the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE.
