A review of the Debian based KDE desktop OS known as Zeven OS Neptune 1.99. A very impressive and lightweight KDE 4.6.2 distro based on both Debian stable and testing. Decent selection of packages, and overall a very smooth desktop experience. Definitely a worthy alternative to Kubuntu and Mint KDE.

  • "we know these aren't tabs" - i thought KWin did have real tabbed windowing

  • @walter0bz It does, and I have used it, but the theme made it look like Chromium tabs.

  • MAN, Aztec temple? jesus christ, go have some history classes, you need it. This is Machupichu, of the Inca Empire ( now Peru ). omg...but, good review anyways haha

  • @asgardthor123 Thank you for making this review more historically accurate lol. Good catch, ;-)

  • @InfinitelyGalactic sorry for seeming rude hahaha =P

  • @asgardthor123 Nah...you're fine...sorry if I sounded offended. :-)

  • Link now shows that KDE has been replaced by GNOME3. Am installing now. Seems better, based on Dedian, LUBUNTO & XUBUNTU.

  • @InfinitelyGalactic Those theme tabs looks really awful on this video. Maybe it looks better from close up, but from where I am sitting it makes the title bar busy, nervous and unbalanced.

  • Hello mate, your reviews are simply excellent! Would like to ask if you have any suggestions as to which would be the latest and best Linux Distro to install and learn from. Zeven OS and OpenSUSE KDE look rather appealing. I would like a good looking fast OS that packs a punch mainly for leisure with the capability of running latest Compiz. Definite hardware capability. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

  • @lindsaymobil22 Whoops! I listened to that after I posted and thought, 'Hmm. That doesn't sound quite right.' Thanks heaps for clarifying. I'll add an annotation. Cheers.
