Unlocking the Palm Pre to work on another network using the Rebel Sim Card.
In this video I clear the network key in my old phone before I insert the sim into the Palm Pre. This is not something that needs to be done, but I did it to illustrate that the Rebel Sim Card can make a fresh connection in the Palm Pre.

Anyone know why the sim card has to be cut? The rebel sim wafer doesn't touch the sim reader on the phone that high up? Does the sim card really need to be punched out?

hey i have a palm pre that is from telus. It does not have any sim card slot. So would it be possiable that i could some how unlock the phone to work on a fido/rogers netwaork (which uses a sim card)

Can you unlock a palm pre from sprint? I'm only curious because they use CDMA and don't use SIM cards.

Ok is there any chance of me bricking my pre if I do this ? and also I am going to buy it second hand locked on o2 so if I put an o2 simcard in it for a while about a week ... will this have any effect on me putting in the rebel sim card after a week ?

@ozzy910 None at all. It also does not effect warranty as you are not modifying the phone. I used an O2 contract sim for a couple of days until I started using the RSC, so no problem there either.
