Meg Findley with the assistance of David Ward and Otto Gutenson demonstrate how a sample is collected using the Virginia SOS protocol.

There was only one minor comment re the video to note - when you anchor the net, the rocks used as an anchor are supposed to be collected from outside of the area that will be sampled and "cleaned off" outside of the net before placing on the bottom of the net to anchor. Also, when the anchor rocks are removed, they should be "cleaned off" to make sure nothing is sticking to them.

  • If David had a hanky on his head instead of that hat, he'd look just like those gumby characters from Monty Python.
