In Nairobi, it was a different kind of standoff, a very noisy one. Several public transport vehicles were impounded by environment officials for disrupting the quiet of the holiday season. The environmental regulator, NEMA, made good on its threat to enforce anti-noise regulations. But as Harith Salim reports, matatu owners are making considerable noise about the move.
