Made these first 3 short videos because the M109R is all over youtube, and the C109R and my touring model the C109RT are pretty much getting the cold shoulder. So since I am the happy owner of this 880lb brute, I figured it was time to put her in the lime light.

First video was general info and walk around. Second was general criticism and engine start up. This video is the first time I ever recorded on a moving motorcycle. Execuse the jumpy camera, I have not made a helmet mount yet and had to hold the camera in my left hand, preventing me from changing gears.

Future videos of Big Blue will be of the Red-Neckified GPS mount and I-Pod mini radio mount I created for this bike..... And no, I did not use Ducktape! Ok, maybe just a little ;)

  • Just a little disappointed that it gets around 30 mpg. I would still get one tomorrow if my wife said the money is in the budget. She says our C50 is still just fine for the two of us. (She is probably right... technically). I'm 5' 8", 185 lbs, so the two of us weight only a little more than you do by yourself. We get about 47 mpg two-up, which works well for all day rides. Really like the 50 to 80 acceleration you have, though. I can't do that as well.... Scott, from upstate New York.

  • @Jaxen9084 - She get's mid to upper 30's for normal riding, but I have gotten 32 before when dogging her out. That acceleration was around half throttle since I was holding the camera in my other hand. The fastest acceleration I have done so far was still not W.O.T. but most of the way, 3rd gear I looked down and I was doing 108! So this thing MOVES. Very intimidating to ride because it is so heavy and the tank is huge. C50 will get you any legal speed ya know ;) Safe Riding, thanks.

  • The main thing that annoys me about your bike is that I don't have the dough to buy one. I straddled one at a dealer, and it did feel and look good...with exceptions of course. I love that huge tank, but the handlebars are rather naked and need a couple of chrome cases, one for a tach and something else on the other side. There was a Royal Star Tour Deluxe right next to the C109r, and it felt even heavier to manipulate than this bike, although I've ridden neither. Thanks for your great videos.

  • @hlaltimus

08 listed for $14,999 - 09 and up $15,999 for RT Touring Model. Got mine on sale for $11,499 and believe me they would not take 1 cent more off it.

Tach I really want, but with over 100lb ft torque it's not required, though anything with pistons needs a tach as far as I am concerned.

Yeah, the bars could be dressed up with crome. $ :(

HUGE to ride at first, scared to take sweeping turns first few weeks. Now with my 278lbs and 2500 miles if feels PERFECT! Thanks for comment!

  • Um, I ment I am 278lbs, the Bike is actually 880lbs by itself! So it is heavy, even if I have lost 24 pounds since purchasing it.

Lot of small framed guys at work have a hard time just getting it off the kickstand! If your only a casual rider and not a chubby red neck like me, it might be a bit much. I love it though, feel like king of the road until a Boss Hoss passes me on I-4.

  • thats very cool my friend. does any of your friends own a Kawasaki Nomad? I want to know which is better that or the Suzuki?

appreciate the effor on the vid

    cheers from Saudi Arabia :)

  • @Rezaroth

No, none have them, but I cross shopped that any my bike so I know a bit about it. The Nomad has a little bit smaller engine then my bike, is around the same weight, and since it competes with my bike has about the same stance and riding position.

Nomad has standard Cruise Control and Locking Hard Bags, both lacking on my bike. Read in a magazine the Hard Bags are flimsy though. motorcyclecruiser and motorcycliseonline both great websites for articles.

    Thanks!!!!!

  • Suzuki Boulevard C109RT LETS RIDE WHEN I COME DOWN TO BIKE WEEK 2012 OK ?

  • @blueFalcon777 - Also, I am not sure if I could pick this thing up if it fell over! If the weight don't bother you and you can reach your feet out when at a stop, the bike is GREAT! Just make sure you can fit and ride it without straining yourself or you will not want to ride it at all.

Popular Mechanics - Motorcyclistonline - Motorcyclecruiser - All 3 websites have articles on the C109RT and many other bikes. Just search for Suzuki Boulevard. Hope this helps.

    P.S. Thanks for watching.

  • @blueFalcon777 - The seat height when resting on the kickstand is around 31 inches tall or mid 70's for centimeters. My legs are around 37 inches long and I have enough room to get at least a couple feet away from the bikes core for support on inclined roads.

The bike is nearly 900 pounds, and if your small framed the bike will probably be rid able, but more of a chore to ride then a pleasure. When I first rode it, It felt like a ship sitting on 2 wheels!
