You made the mistake of not putting the cap on your camera. The dust you were removing from the lens is now floating around and able to enter your camera.

for the second part of the video you really should have covered the sensor with the cap, you kind of just took the lens off and just let it sit there

@Mauivavi there are filters out there to distort your image/image color, however...
the UV filter helps block out purple finge in your images caused by the sun and what dom said.
cheap, protects your expensive lens.

I know hoya makes a HD Digital PROTECTOR Filter (72mm=55$)
is it worth it to get this filter on a 18-200 nikon?

I have never used a filter, is it necessary? will that not distort the image?
