Will you ever think of climbing Mt. Everest?

For Ashok Munne, Its not a question. Its his next mission. He has also decided on a date: 12.12.12!

Right now, Ashok is training vigorously to build stamina and practices Yoga to build his inner strength. The might, he is born with! Only component he does not have is his right leg, which he lost during a train accident in 2008. Of course, he has his Ottobock Below Knee prosthesis with Triton Carbon Fibre Energy Returning Foot which will support him in his extreme activities: With the added advantage that the prosthetic leg is frost-bite resistant!!

What strikes you when you see Ashok is his extreme fitness and determination. He is a Karate black belt holder. He has already climbed the highest peak in Maharashtra- the Kalsubai Peak. Ashok will soon be attending a base camp in the Himalayas to acclimatize himself with the extreme Himalayan weather. When he gets to the top of the 29029 ft. Mt Everest, Ashok will be the first Asian climber with a physical disability to have achieved this.

Ottobock has contributed to Ashok's Mission by donating to him a prosthesis that will support his extreme activity through the highly functional Triton Foot, a comfortable socket custom-designed by our clinical experts and overall, a very durable prosthesis.

We wish Ashok success in his ambitious plans. If you also wish to support Ashok's Mission to Mt. Everest, please visit his blog at www.missioneverest2012.blogspot.com
